Why camp in Wales?
Wales packs an extraordinary amount of landscape variety into a country the size of Wales — from the glaciated peaks of Snowdonia to the red sandstone cliffs of the Pembrokeshire coast, from the rolling Black Mountains to the sheltered Gower Peninsula. Things to do near Wales campsites
Snowdon (Y Wyddfa), Wales's highest peak, can be climbed via several routes or by the historic Snowdon Mountain Railway from Llanberis. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path is one of the finest coastal walking trails in Britain — 186 miles of cliff path, coves, and bays. Zip World at Penrhyn Quarry offers some of the most dramatic adventure activities in the UK. Cardiff, with its Victorian arcades, the Principality Stadium, and Cardiff Bay waterfront, makes an excellent day trip. The Brecon Beacons are outstanding for mountain biking, dark-sky stargazing (the first area in Wales to be designated an International Dark Sky Reserve), and waterfall walks.
